The Pilot Inn is the Famous Family run Pub-Restaurant situated a stones throw (and there's a lot of them around) from the sea, in the heart of the breathtaking Dungeness National Nature Reserve.
Steeped in the smuggling history of Romney Marsh, its inception followed the luring aground of the Spanish vessel, Alfresia, in 1633. They murdered the crew and looted the cargo of spirits. The ship was used to build the original Pilot and some of the original timbers remain in the bar today.
Sue and Aaron took over The Pilot in April 2008. They have made some major improvements since then and this year won "Best Coastal Business" in the "Lydd in Bloom" competition.
Whether you're power lunching; doing a student assignment; Geocaching or simply looking around at the breathtaking scenery, The Pilot offers free WiFi for all, all year round.
We welcome families all year round and have Family Hour every day from 5-6pm. Check out our family offers in the offers section. We also have activity packs to keep our young Piloteers busy.
